Mike Ogletree, former member of the band, Simple Minds, brings his music to Meadowlark during the fall of 2018. You may remember Mike for his song, “Don’t You Forget About Me”, which was popularized in The Breakfast Club. Three times weekly, Ogletree will be playing live music at Meadowlark, including at its Wednesday Wine Down events, Thursday Craft Beer events, and Saturday night cookouts. A guitarist, vocalist and drummer, Ogletree hopes to involve local musicians to workshop and perform a collaboration of Scottish folk music and local bluegrass.
Ogletree will have an active presence on social media as well, including posting on Facebook about the musical events at this Maggie Valley hotel as well as related area events. The entire Artist Residency Program aims to showcase local artists and cultural artisans for collaborations.
