The Meadowlark Motel and Meadowlark Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center are getting ready for another unforgettable weekend with our Maggie Valley Fly Fishing Camp, April 15-17, 2022!
There’s nothing quite like the peace and quiet of a mountain stream. The wind softly whispering through the trees, the soothing rush of water over rocks, the splash of the lure as it glances off the water’s surface. It’s a freedom that every angler knows all too well.
The diversity and class of wild trout in the waters of the Great Smoky Mountains make it a first-rate destination for fly fishing. With over 200 trout streams that combine to form more than 700 miles of incredible fishing spots, the opportunities for catching trout are as varied as the mountain landscape itself.
Picture it now – you wade into the water and cast your line. Find your rhythm as you flick the line back and forth, tempting the fish just below the surface. Suddenly you feel a tug on the end of your line, and the next thing you know, you’ve just caught “the big one.” Get ready to escape to the mountains and explore the fun in Maggie Valley.
Our event will be under the direction of Beast Coast Anglers – an elite fly-fishing guide service, based in Western NC, TN, owned and operated by world class angler Charles Humphrey III, along with a stellar roster of additional professional guides.
Space is limited to a maximum of 20 participants, thus ensuring a memorable and hands-on interactive experience for all guests and guides. Price includes two nights lodging at the resort, breakfast both days, a party on Friday night in the Meadowlark Speakeasy, 4 hours of intensive instruction Saturday morning, followed by several hours of professionally guided fishing on the best trout streams in western North Carolina.
After an exciting day of learning and fishing, the event culminates with a free BBQ supper, and live Music on Saturday night from Mike Ogletree and friends, or continue your fishing on site at our stocked trout stream on the resort grounds Saturday and Sunday—and relax with your beverage of choice around one of many fire pits while sharing tales of your weekend adventure!
